Madhya Pradesh Guv, CM condole Correa's demise

Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan and Governor Ram Naresh Yadav today expressed profound grief over the death of renowned architect, Charles Correa.
In his condolence message, Chouhan said that Correa was a pioneer of modern architecture through his exceptional and unique imagination, an official release said.
Also, the Governor said that architecture and construction of Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) and Bharat Bhavan buildings will continue to perpetuate late Correa's memories, the release said.
Yadav has prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss.
Correa had designed two landmark buildings in the state capital, including Madhya Pradesh Assembly and prestigious multi-art cultural centre, Bharat Bhavan.
The renowned architect and urban planner who played a defining role in developing architecture in independent India, passed away here last night after a brief illness at the age of 84.
