Accusing the West Bengal government of failing to take adequate steps in connection with the gangrape and alleged murder of their daughter, parents of the Madhyamgram gangrape victim today left for Patna to meet Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar "for justice".
"We have no hope here, so we are going to meet the Bihar CM for justice on being called by him," the parents told reporters before leaving for Patna by train.
A Bihar government team led by IGP (Special Branch) J S Gangwar, which came here soon after the death of the minor hailing from Samastipur in Bihar, had pointed out in a report last week to Nitish Kumar that lack of security cover to the family had led to the incident.
The report is said to have highlighted the plight of the 16-year-old victim, who was first gangraped on October 25 and again after lodging a complaint with the police.
The family had left Madhyamgram after the two incidents of gangrape, but was tracked down by some aides of the alleged rapists and the girl was allegedly set on fire on December 23, when she was alone at her new home in Dum Dum.
Even as the family was apprehensive of their future safety, they refused to return to Bihar saying they would fight for justice here.

A cheque of Rs one lakh was also handed over by Gangwar during his visit on behalf of the Bihar CM as a "healing touch".
The West Bengal government had slammed Kumar's move of sending a team and described it as "interference to another state's law and order situation in an undemocratic manner".
The victim's father met President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi recently seeking justice.
Meanwhile, state home secretary Basudeb Bannerjee reviewed the law and order situation in the district in a meeting with the North 24-Parganas district administration yesterday, while directing senior officials to strengthen measures to prevent crimes.
