Magisterial inquiry ordered into communal violence in Ballia

The Ballia district administration today ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident of communal violence which took place in Sikandarpur area here.
District Magistrate of Ballia Surendra Vikram said, "Additional district magistrate Manoj Singhal has been made the investigating officer. The situation in Sikandarpur is under control, and no incident of violence has been reported in the last 48 hours. Drone cameras are being used to monitor the area."
Superintendent of Police, Anil Kumar said, "As many as 30 persons have been arrested, and shoot at sight orders have been issued against those indulging in violence."
The SP also informed that in-charge of Sikandarpur police station Avinash Singh and police outpost in-charge Sarfaraz Khan have been removed on grounds of negligence of duty.
Nearly half-a-dozen people were injured after members of two communities clashed over a petty dispute related to children in Sikandarpur.
The incident had occurred on September 30 evening at a Durga Puja fair, District Magistrate Surendra Vikram had said.
A minor quarrel between two children took an ugly turn after their parents and members of the two communities got involved.
Police and provincial armed constabulary (PAC) personnel were deployed at the spot.
