The facility will manufacture automotive lights and air intake systems and supply to automakers like Maruti Suzuki India and Honda.
The plant, which is spread over 21,000 square meters, has an installed capacity of 12 lakh rear lamps and 9 lakh air intake manifolds.
"The new facility in Bawal will enable MMM to expand capacities and service to our customers in the region more efficiently," Samvardhana Motherson Chairman V C Sehgal said in a statement.
"We aim to deliver products specifically tailored for this big market and I would say that with Samvardhana Motherson we found the ideal partner to actualise our strategy and develop the business," Magneti Marelli CEO Pietro Gorlier said.
Besides, Bawal, the JV firm also operates two facilities at Pune and Sanand.
