Fourteen people succumbed to swine flu in Maharashtra today, taking the death toll due to H1N1 virus to 235.
"Fourteen deaths were reported today. Till date, there have been 2,890 cases in the state and as many as 40 people infected by the H1N1 virus are on ventilator," a public health official said.
Meanwhile, opposition Congress-NCP legislators today staged a protest outside Assembly flaying the state government for its "apathy" on the swine flu issue.
"There is no action, only inaction on tackling swine flu," read a banner held by one of the legislators.
