Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Congress leader Patangrao Kadam, Ajit Pawar from NCP, PWP's Ganpatrao Deshmukh and state PWD Minister Eknath Shinde paid tributes to Jayalalithaa before the House was adjoured after adopting a condolence motion.
Speaker Haribhau Bagde was in Chair.
Recalling Jayalalithaa's contributions in the fields of films and politics spread over four decades, Fadnavis said, "She was one of the most respected leaders in the Tamil Nadu politics who earned the affectionate title of 'Amma' on account of her deep concern for the people."
Pawar described her popularity on account of such widely appreciated welfare measures like the 'Amma' meals where food is provided at cheaper rates.

The House observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect for the departed soul.

last rites of Jayalalithaa, in Chennai later today.
Fadnavis, accompanied by BJP MLA Capt R Tamil Selvan, will fly to Chennai in the afternoon.
