BJP will hold its three-day long state executive meeting in Kolhapur from May 4, party sources said here today.
This is the first meeting after it came to power in the state in October last year.
Party's national president Amit Shah will address the inaugural session on May 5 while Union Transport and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari will address the valedictory session on May 6, a party office-bearer said.
The meeting of the state office-bearers will take place on May 4 and about 1,000 delegates are expected to attend the meet, he said.
According to the party sources, Kolhapur has been chosen to host the meeting as the party achieved stupendous success in western Maharashtra, a traditional stronghold of Congress-NCP, during both -- Lok Sabha as well as Assembly elections last year.
"We aim to expand our wings in the entire state and not only in western Maharashtra. Deliberations will focus on building on the good foundations laid by the electoral successes and the meeting will set the agenda in that direction," said the office-bearer.
However, even after former Union minister Raosaheb Danve took over the reins of the party from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis earlier this year, it is yet to announce its new team.
"The new list is expected soon," the party sources added.
