Maharashtra BJP today said it would launch a programme on May 1, under which it would meet its party members.
"During the ongoing membership drive, BJP has crossed the mark of enrolling one crore members in the state. The party will meet each member," party's state unit President Raosaheb Danve told reporters at a press conference here.
"During the programme that would launch on May 1, we will enrol about one lakh active members and will impart special training (regarding the party-related work). There are 635 blocks and each will have 150 active members," he added.
The training will be given to the members in batches in August, September and October, the BJP leader said.
According to him, the state executive committee meet of the party will be held in Kolhapur from May 4 to 6, in which party chief Amit Shah will address the inaugural session while Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will be chief guest for the valedictory function on May 6.
