Tomorrow's 'Rail Roko' agitation in the state will take place as announced, the party said.
Narendra Modi government was trying to salvage itself by taking "unsubstantial" decision of partial roll-back only due to the pressure created by Congress, state Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant said.
In a partial rollback, the Railways today announced that the recent hike of 14.2 per cent in passenger fares will not apply to second class suburban journey upto 80 kms.
"The Govt has done a partial roll-back. Our agitations have succeeded. This will bring some relief to 55 lakh Mumbaikars and train travellers across the country. The government should introduce better facilities for travellers than increasing fares mindlessly.
