As the proceedings began in the Upper House, the opposition moved an adjournment motion before Deputy Chairman Manikrao Thakre to set aside the daily listed agenda and discuss the problems and other issues related to farmers.
Thakre dismissed the motion, but allowed NCP leader Sunil Tatkare to put forward his views in the House.
The ruling party objected to this, leading to heated arguments between Leader of the House Chandrakant Patil and Leader of Opposition Dhananjay Munde.
The members of the ruling party as well as the opposition trooped into the well of the House.
