BJP member Vinod Tawde alleged Kadam, relief and rehabilitation minister, is not aware of the ground realities and is misleading the Legislative Council.
"The state government is providing only 13 kg fodder to the cattle of the farmer households in Sangli district," Tawde said disputing Kadam's statement that 15 kg fodder was being provided.
Unsatisfied with the minister's reply, the Opposition disrupted the proceedings following which the Council was adjourned for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Patil and Deepak Salunkhe of NCP, the coalition partner in the ruling Democratic Front government, too admitted that the fodder was indeed being supplied in lesser quantity contrary to what Kadam, who belongs to Congress, has claimed.
Intervening in the matter, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar assured the House that an independent meeting in this regard would be convened and transparency would be brought in distribution of fodder.
