Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is currently on a three-nation tour, today met Maharashtrian community members in New York.

Speaking at a community reception hosted by the Consulate General of India in New York and Friends of Maharashtra, the chief minister said that Maharashtra was driving the growth story of India, as per a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) here.

More than 500 delegates attended the programme.

Fadnavis said Mumbai is changing fast due to huge infrastructure projects while maintaining its independent identity.

"Huge network of 250-km Metro, projects like Mumbai TransHarbour Link, Water transport and western coastal expressway will make good impact and help reduce commuting issues," the release quoted the CM as saying.

Fadnavis is currently on a week-long visit to Dubai, Canada, and the United States.
