"There will be additional 74 health sub-centres, 20 primary health centres, one rural hospital, three district sub-health centres, two district hospitals, four hospitals for women and six trauma care centres that are sanctioned by the state," Sawant told reporters here.
"The total permission is for 111 units across the state. To make these institutions operational, the state is going to create new 1,332 posts including medical officers, health assistants and laboratory assistants in support of these institutions," he said.
The tribal department and state health department of the state government was in the line of fire after six tribal kids died of malnutrition a few months ago.
Areas like Melghat in Vidarbha region, Nashik and Thane have sizeable number of tribals. These areas will have health centres as well as allied facilities to address the requirements of patients, Sawant said.
