Addressing a function after unveiling a bronze statue of eminent doctor and educationist late P V N Raju at a college here today, Rao described Raju as a great person, a social thinker and recalled his service to the society as a doctor, politician and intellectual.
He said skilled youth are needed so that they take the country on the path of progress.
The Governor also underlined the importance of choice based credit system in the field of higher education and also skill development programmes in colleges and universities.
He suggested to utilise the services of retired teachers to groom the students.
Rao also called upon the Telugu people to unitedly strive to promote their great tradition and culture.
