The programme is called '1,000 days of the children', Chavan said here, after releasing a survey on malnutrition among children in the state.
The Chief Minister also announced that a draft children's policy has been prepared for the all-round development of kids.
Women and Child Development minister Varsha Gaikwad said 4,800 villages in the state have been made malnutrition-free. Malnutrition in the state has declined by eight per cent, she said.
Union Minister Sachin Pilot said malnutrition was a major challenge before the country. One out of every two children is malnourished, he said. A group of MPs across parties is active to tackle this menace, he said.
