Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said his government is helping sugar industry in every possible way.
"Government is helping sugar industry in every possible way. We've given soft loans to sugar factories so that they can give Fair Retail Price (FRP) to farmers, which is highest amongst states," Fadnavis said at the Vasantdada Sugar Institute (VSI) at Manjri near here.
The Chief Minister attended VSI's 40th General Body meet.
Fadnavis praised VSI's role for special focus on research for new technologies and stressed on post sugar production research.
Government is positive about purchasing power from co-generation plants, said the Chief Minister.
He presented various awards to farmers at the event attended by NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Ajit Pawar, Jayant Patil and others.
