Maha Govt ready to hand over Bhandara case to CBI: Patil

Maharashtra Government is ready to hand over the probe into the deaths of the three minor sisters at Murmadi village in Bhandara district to the CBI if the family wishes so, the Legislative Council was informed here today.
This was announced by Home Minister R R Patil, while replying to a discussion.
"Even if the victim's family sends a post card to the government demanding CBI investigation...The government is ready to hand over the case to CBI," the minister said.
Leader of Opposition Vinod Tawde, who moved the motion under the relevant rule of the Legislature, said no arrests have been made so far even after a month.
Three reports of forensic experts were received and all stated cause of death was drowning and did not mention rape, Patil said.
A team has visited Rajasthan and Gujarat in connection with the case, he said.
So far, over 500 persons have been interrogated in the case, he added.
