Maha green minister for construction of new dam on Godavari

Maharashtra Environment Minister Ramdas Kadam today asked authorities to undertake effective steps to stop pollution in Godavari river.
Kadam said he would discuss with Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis the feasibility of construction of a dam above the present Gangapur dam, to ensure continuous flow of water in the river so as to make it corruption-free.
He asked a meeting comprising officials of district administration, Nashik Municipal Corporation, state Pollution Control Board to undertake effective steps to check pollution of the river.
Heads of various departments were present at separate meetings presided over by the minister.
Kadam also visited 'Ramkunda', the sacred bathing ghat on the river, and other places, including NMC's sewerage treatment plant.
