Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Congress group leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar were present in the House where members observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the victims.
In the Legislative Council, Hemant Takle, Dhananjay Munde (both from NCP) and Sanjay Dutt (Congress) drew the attention of the House towards the gruesome incident.
Chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh then immediately moved the resolution condoling the deaths.
The Council also observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect after which it was adjourned for five minutes.
As many as 141 people, mostly school children, were yesterday killed and 130 injured after heaving armed Taliban suicide bombers stormed an Army-run school in Peshawar and fired indiscriminately at them.
