The discussion on the topic was initiated by BJP MLA Yogesh Sagar, who stressed that quality in education was necessary for the all-round development of the state.
Participating in the debate, former Rural Development Minister Jayant Patil suggested that special emphasis should be given on school education, especially between standard VI and VIII.
He urged the state Education Minister Vinod Tawde who was present in House, to convene an all-party meet to discuss ways to improve the standard of education.
"This clearly shows the level of education imparted to these students in private colleges. The so-called qualified doctors are not able to treat patients properly and also unable to diagnose."
