Tabling a resolution in the Assembly to congratulate the women's cricket team, Fadnavis said India's prestige has gone up due to the "scintillating" performance of these players.
The team has returned from London after participating in Women's World Cup, in which India lost to England in the final played last Sunday.
Fadnavis said the state government has decided to award team players from Maharashtra - Smriti Mandhana, Mona Meshram, Poonam Raut -- Rs 50 lakh each for their sterling performance.
"Although the team could not win the Cup, sports lovers showered praise on the players' performance, which in itself was a big victory," Fadnavis said, reading out the resolution in the Lower House.
Fadnavis informed the House that Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hosted the women's cricket team and told the players that they made the nation proud.
