The decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here.
"Intensive poultry development blocks will be set up in 14 districts on a PPP basis," an official in the Chief Minister's Office said.
The Cabinet also approved a proposal to start "Tejaswini", a bus service only for women in five municipal corporation areas - Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan- Dombivali and Nagpur.
In another decision, the Maharashtra government decided that the "Samruddh Gram Yojana" will be called as "Smart Gram" and implemented from 2016-17, he said.

The Cabinet also approved a policy to change scope of irrigation projects on area upto 250 hectares.

The decision to provide autonomy has been taken to ensure that coordination with various private parties can be done to formulate professional courses aimed at employment generation.
The move will help in bringing about changes in the curriculum, said the official.
In order to make the changes the institution needs to be given administrative financial and educational autonomy, he added.
The board will take decisions regarding quality of curriculum, infrastructure, education among other things, the official added.
The Cabinet note cited the example of College of Engineering, Pune (CoEP) which, after becoming autonomous has expanded its courses, industrial tie-ups and programmes.
