The resolution seeks to rename the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport as "Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport" and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station as "Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus".
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis moved the resolution in the Assembly saying the house recommends the Central Government to rename the two facilities.
He also moved another resolution urging the Centre to change the name of Elphinstone Road Railway station in Mumbai to Prabhadevi.
The entire house welcomed both the resolutions by thumping desks, with some members from the treasury benches raising chanting "Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ki jai".
