Maha waives tax on western classical music concerts

Maharashtra government today decided to waive the entertainment duty on western classical music concerts.
The decision was taken at the weekly cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.
Officials said Indian classical music concerts were already exempted from entertainment duty.
The decision will encourage renowned western classical musicians to perform in the state and music lovers will have to shell out less for tickets, officials said.
