After being closed for three days following an agitation by parents over converting it to a girls' school from a co-educational one, Mahadevi Birla World Academy would reopen from tomorrow.
During a meeting between a group of parents and the school management today, the parents demanded that it should remain a co-ed school.
"We have decided to consider their appeal. The demand would be placed before the management committee for consideration after taking into account all factors," principal Anjana Saha told PTI.
She said classes will resume from tomorrow.
The school was closed since Tuesday following angry protests by parents.
Mahadevi Birla, which used to be a girls' school, was converted into a co-ed school three years ago. From the next academic session, the management wants to revert back to an all-girls campus.
As of now there are 3,000 girls in the school and only 270 boys from kindergarten till the second standard.
