The party said the action of the UP government is the result of the "frustration" of the Samajwadi Party that lost in the Lok Sabha elections and warned that today's incident will further "flare up" the already charged atmosphere.
The BJP demanded that the UP authorities act fairly and not be "one-sided" and take action against the policemen who had allegedly beaten up women in Kanth area of Moradabad and take back all "false cases" against its leaders.
"The local authorities by not being fair are trying to flare up the matter that can disturb the peace of the area," BJP's Medical Cell in-charge Shrikant Sharma alleged.
He warned the authorities in the state to be fair and not be "one-sided" to maintain peace and communal harmony in the state and demanded immediate action against the policemen.

The 'mahapanchayat' or gathering was called by the state BJP today after a recent dispute in Kanth, over removal of a loudspeaker at a temple that led to communal tension in the area.
BJP supporters sat on tracks and disrupted rail traffic and indulged in stone-pelting and the Moradabad District Magistrate Chandra Kant was also injured in the incident.
