Maharashtra Congress to hold camp for Lok Sabha preparations

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) will be holding a two-day speakers training camp in Pune from April 27 for preparations for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
MPCC president Manikrao Thakre said two good speakers from each tehsil of the state would participate in the camp, along with state-level office bearers. In all about 1,500 delegates will attend.
The discussions will focus on, among other things, use of social media in the campaign, Thakre said.
The speakers at the camp would include Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh, Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, AICC spokesperson Sandeep Dixit, senior journalist Kumar Ketkar, Union Telecom Minister Kapil sibal and Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, he said.
Thakre also said that MPCC had set up district-level committees to monitor drought relief measures in Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Osmanabad and Solapur.
The committees will take a stock of the water storage situation, fodder availability and EGS works and submit report to Chief Minister, besides following up with the local administration, he said.
