Maharashtra dominates Day 2 of Natl sub-junior aquatic

Maharashtra continued to dominate the pool on the second day winning as many as seven gold medals including two in diving in the 30th National Sub-Junior Aquatic Championship here today.
Maharashtra boys and girls held sway as they grabbed seven golds, two silver and five bronze taking their total tally to 16 gold, six silver and seven bronze medals.
Karnataka won two gold while Haryana and Andhra picked one each in the 14 events decided today.
Host Goa won two medals in diving with Genevieve D'Costa clinching her second silver medal as she finished second behind Swatu Divap of Maharashtra in the girls group I highboard diving event at the Campal swimming pool.
Aalhad Chati won bronze as he finished behind Services Sports Control Board divers Sandip Das and Surojit Rajbanshi in 3-metre springboard event in boys group II.
For Genevieve it was a second silver, which came in the girls Group I highboard diving event.
The Goan schoolgirl had finished second in the one-metre springboard on the opening day. She again finished behind Swati who had 293.40 points against Genevieve's 241.45.
Maharashtra continued to lead the medal tally winning as many as seven golds, including two in diving, yesterday.
