The Governor will land at Sant Gadgebaba Amravati University helipad at 10.30 am, according to official sources.
He will then inaugurate 'Indradhanushya-2014' a youth festival involving universities across Maharashtra.
The event, being organised by the Amravati varsity in its premises, has attracted around 800 participants from 20 universities. The five-day festival would see 24 programmes under five categories - theatre, dance, music, literature and fine arts.
From there, Rao will leave for Dharni in Melghat where he will inaugurate the Agriculture Technical School set up under the Akola-based Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth. He will also visit an anganwadi (Government-run child care centre) in Dharni taluka, the sources said.
Rao will hold talks with Government officials and speak to a group of tribals before flying to Nagpur in the evening, they added.
