The country's most industrialised state with the largest GDP contribution tops the chart of flexi staffing industry by employing 0.36 million with a share of 17.3 per cent of the national flexi staff share, the Indian Staffing Federation, which is the apex body for flexi staffing industry, said in a statement.
It also said the flexi staffing has been growing more than the double the GDP growth rate at 16.2 per cent.
"We are looking at it as a mutual win-win for the state as well as for the industry at large with Maharashtra already showing immense progress in hiring organised flexi workers. We are hopeful that the Indian Staffing Federation will play a crucial role in this," the federation quoted the state labour minister Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar as saying.
Rituparna Chakraborty, president of the federation said flexi staffing is USD 4.5 billion industry.
