"Two days ago I had met the Prime Minister in the Parliament and discussed various issues in the interest of the people including the drought," Mahato said here.
Addressing a press conference, he said "I urged the PM to take necessary steps to prevent migration by implementing the central and state government-sponsored schemes in the state to minimise migration."
Among the demands, Mahato said the issue of opening of the closed Rakha and Kendadih copper mines of the public sector Hindustan Copper Limited in Ghatsila sub-division was also discussed in detail.
Besides, the issue of Swarnarekha Multipurpose Project (SMP), construction work of which had began four decades ago but still remained incomplete, was also discussed, he added.
