Mahayuti will fight Maha Assembly polls unitedly: Fadanvis

Shiv Sena and BJP, the biggest constituents of the Mahayuti (grand alliance) in Maharashtra, today said they will contest the ensuing state Assembly polls unitedly.
"At today's meeting of our coordination committee, we have taken a firm decision to fight the Assembly polls as a cohesive force," state BJP president Devendra Fadanvis told reporters after the meeting held at a luxury hotel in suburban Bandra.
"In the meeting, we reviewed the situation in all 288 Assembly seats in the state. We have prepared the framework of the strategy for the polls," Fadanvis said.
Another meeting of the Mahayuti will be held on July 28, after which the picture about seat-sharing among the alliance constituents is expected to be clear, the BJP leader said.

"We have decided that we will ensure appropriate representation to all constituents of Mahayuti," he said, adding "the discussions today were very positive and cordial."
Asked if the earlier seat-sharing formula will change, Fadnavis said, "We have prepared a broader framework. Other things will be informed to you after discussions. Today, we have nothing more to tell you."

"Today, all senior leaders of Shiv Sena and BJP held a meeting. The discussions were preliminary in nature. The Mahayuti which contested the Lok Sabha polls successfully, will also contest the Assembly polls unitedly," Sena leader Sanjay Raut said.
"All parties in the Mahayuti, whether big or small, will get the respect they deserve. We are unanimous that we will fight the Assembly elections unitedly," Raut said.

The next meeting will be on July 28 and all leaders of Mahayuti will attend it, he added.
