Mahila Cong assails Raje Govt over rising crime against women
Press Trust of India Jaipur Congress's women wing general secretary Chandrika Ben today alleged that women were no longer secured in Rajasthan as crime against them has been rising alarmingly under the BJP regime.
Even girls were not secured in Jhalawar, the constituency of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, where a case of rape and murder was reported recently, Ben said at a function organised by state Mahila Congress here.
Earlier speaking on the occasion, state Mahila Congress president and MLA Shankuntala Rawat also criticised the state government over deteriorating law and order situation.
Despite having a women Chief Minister, minor girls and woman are not safe and secured in the state, Rawat said.
Later in the evening scores of Mahila Congress members, led by Rawat, protested against the Jhalawar rape and murder, and burnt an effigy of the Chief Minister at the Civil Lines railway crossing, near to the CM's residence, according to a state Congress release.
