"School bus safety is a cause of serious concern. The SafeEye technology that we have applied in Maxximo Mini van aims at providing solution to this concern," Mahindra & Mahindra automotive division chief executive Pravin Shah said at the launch.
The SafeEye digital solution is a step forward in ensuring the safety of the school-going children, he said.
SafeEye will offer all stake-holders comprising parents, principals and bus operators a gamut of solutions like location and speed tracking on GPS map and through SMS alert, besides sending out alerts in case of some mishap.
The new offering also meets the Supreme Court's guidelines on the safety of school-going children.
The small commercial vehicle segment Maxximo Mini Van VX school bus was first time launched in July 2012. Mahindra commands 18 per cent market share in the SCV segment.
