Third party logistics (3PL) provider Mahindra Logistics Ltd Wednesday said it planned to add half a million square feet of warehouses across the country by the end of FY'18, with focus on expansion in the south.
Mahindra Logistics CEO Pirojshaw Sarkari said Tamil Nadu was a key contributor to the company's business and that it already has three warehouses here.
"We are looking at adding two more warehouses in Chennai" with an overall capacity of two lakh sq.ft, he told reporters here.
Warehouses will also come up in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, he added.
"We are looking at adding half a million sq.ft of warehouses across the country by March 31, 2018," Sarkari said.
Noting Tamil Nadu contributed a "significant" share to the company's business, he said some of its key customers in supply chain business in the region include BMW, Wabco and ITC.

The company was also involved in the People Transport business, working for firms like Tech Mahindra and Paypal among others.
"With a thriving industrial and business hub, the region holds strategic value for the company's growth, especially in the auto sector," the company said.
