Mahindra wins CIV Constructors title ahead of Honda

In a major sucesss for Mahindra Racing, the team has won the constructors title and its driver Andrea Locatelli sealed the riders championship at the Italian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (CIV).
In the Constructors championship, Mahindra (201) sealed the title following the final race in Mugello as they beat their closest rival Honda (187) by 14 points in the Moto3 class. Oral were a distant third with 72 points.
It is the second successivce title for Mahindra as they had won in the 125cc class, last year. Moto3 is 250cc class.
Mahindra are the only Indian manufacturer to enter the International motorcycle grand prix racing.

Team riders Locatelli (167) and Michael Rinaldi (145) also wrapped up the 2013 season with an incredible one and two finish in the Riders' Championship. Team Honda's Michael Coletti was third with 144 points.

Winning the Constructors Title for the second year in a row in this highly competitive series is also a remarkable achievement for Indian motorsport and we are very proud to have played our part in making it happen," Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group, said.

Commenting on the win, Mufaddal Choonia, CEO of Mahindra Racing said, "This is a significant achievement for Mahindra Racing, considering that our MGP3O bike is still in its first year of development. We hope to continue to do well and rise to greater heights in the seasons to come."
Championship winner Andrea Locatelli said, "We fought all the way through the season and finally we can say we're the Italian Champions! Today's race was all about getting it done, I really didn't want to waste my chances with a silly mistake. I want to thank my family and Team Mahindra Racing. They have done an incredible job and gave me the perfect bike. I hope to keep working with them in the future.
