Mainly dry weather in Pb, Hry after three days of incessant

After three days of incessant rains in Punjab and Haryana, mainly dry weather prevailed in the two states on Tuesday, the Meteorological Department here said.

Heavy rains in the region, that had hit normal life, are feared to have caused damage to kharif crops at some places in Punjab and Haryana.

A MeT department official said mainly dry weather prevailed at most places in Punjab and Haryana.

The weatherman has predicted dry weather over the next three days barring light rains at isolated places.

Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, is expected to witness overcast conditions over the next three days and mainly clear skies thereafter.

Meanwhile, the maximum temperatures hovered a few notches below normal limits at most places in the region on Tuesday.

Chandigarh recorded a high of 30.7 degrees Celsius.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 30.7 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal limits while Bhiwani's maximum temperature settled at 28 degrees Celsius, down five notches.

Hisar's maximum temperature settled at 28.2 degrees Celsius, down seven degrees while Karnal's maximum temperature was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius, four below normal limits.

Narnaul registered a high of 31.5 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal limits.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 30.1 degrees Celsius, down three notches.

Ludhiana registered a maximum temperature of 30.2 degrees Celsius, down three degrees while Patiala recorded a high of 30.6 deg C, two notches below normal limits.
