"The DGP stressed on maintaining alertness on the borders of twin cities and on the national highway for which he advised placement of check posts to check the movement of anti-social elements. He also advised for sharing intelligence inputs in this regard and start joint patrolling of all the security formations," an official spokesman said.
The DGP issued the directions after reviewing the law and order situation and security arrangements ahead of Republic Day (RD) Celebrations, being held in the State that besides senior police officers was attended by officers of the intelligence and central para-military forces.
Stressing upon better coordination among all sister agencies and the civil administration, the DGP said that to foil any attempt by the troublemakers to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere, close liaison should be maintained at every level and the officers supervising different components should be briefed accordingly.
A comprehensive security grid and deployment mechanism for conduct of peaceful celebrations needs to be formulated, he said.
