The frequency of Kolkata-Dhaka Maitree Express will be increased from three days to four days a week from November 11 to cater to the growing demand of passengers.
We are increasing the frequency of Maitree Express from November 11, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said here today.
Currently, the Maitree Express leaves from Kolkata on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday and from Dhaka on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday.
Now, as per revised schedule, one more trip has been added from November 11. It will leave Kolkata every Friday and will start from Dhaka every Saturday.
The decision was taken in an inter-governmental railway meeting between the delegates of Indian government and Bangladesh government on August 8 in Dhaka. Both sides agreed to increase the frequency of Maitree Express.
