Maize, bajra up on increased offtake

Prices of maize and bajra firmed up by up to Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today due to increased offtake by consuming industries.
However, other grains held steady in thin trade.
Traders besides uptick in demand from consuming industries, fall in supplies from growing regions mainly led to rise in maize and bajra prices.
In the national capital, maize rose by Rs 20 to Rs 1,320 -1,325 per quintal. Bajra also edged up by Rs 5 to Rs 1,200- 1,205 per quintal.
