Maize edges higher on increased demand

Maize prices gained Rs 10 per quintal at local wholesale market today following increased demand from consuming industries.
However, other grains closed steady in thin trade after moving in a tight range.
Traders said increased demand consuming industries against restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in maize prices.
In the national capital, maize edged up by Rs 10 to Rs 1,420-1,425 per quintal.

Wheat MP (deshi) Rs 2,270-2,670, Wheat dara (for mills) Rs 1,665-1,670, Chakki atta (delivery) Rs 1,675-1,680, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill Rs 845-855 (50 kg), Maida Rs 940-950 (50 kg) and Sooji Rs 1,020-1,030 (50 kg).
Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal Rs 10,000, Super Basmati Rice Rs 9,500, Basmati common new Rs 5,400-6,000, Rice Pusa (1121) RS 4,600-5,600, Permal raw Rs 1,700-1,775, Permal wand Rs 1,850-1,900, Sela Rs 2,350-2,400 and Rice IR-8 Rs 1,575-1,600, Bajra Rs 1,150-1,155, Jowar yellow Rs 1,490-1,500, white Rs 2,550-2,650, Maize Rs 1,420-1,425, Barley Rs 1,575-1,580.
