At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, maize for delivery in July month was trading lower by Rs 41 or 2.55 per cent to Rs 1,565 per quinal, with an open interest of 16,530 lots.
On similar lines, maize for delivery in the far-month August month slipped by Rs 39, or 2.39 per cent to Rs 1,596 per quintal, in an open interest of 33,840 lots.
Marketmen said cutting down of bets by participants, tracking a weak trend at the domestic spot markets on muted demand against higher supplies from growing regions, mainly led to fall in maize prices at futures trade.
