The factory, where plastic pipes are manufactured, caught fire around 1 PM, a fire department official said, adding on noticing smoke coming out of the factory, its security guard informed the fire department and factory owners.
As many as 16 fire tenders were rushed to the spot which took over four hours to douse the flames, he said.
Fire department official Sanjeev Kumar said by the time the fire tenders reached the spot, plastic pipes lying outside the factory also caught fire.
Prima facie short circuit caused the fire in which items worth lakhs of rupees were gutted, he said.
