Major fire in Saroli area of Surat

A major fire broke out in the multi-storey Landmark Empire building, which houses a textile market, located in Saroli area, this evening, and several persons are feared to be trapped inside.
"The fire has spread on the sixth and the seventh floor of the building," a fire brigade officials said.
One of the biggest textile markets in Surat is located in this building.
As per the onlookers, the fire broke out at around 6 pm.
Fire brigade officers were clueless as to how many people could be inside, though 12 people have been rescued so far.
"Twelve fire-fighting vehicles have reached the spot to rescue the people," the official said.
