"Lakhs of employment opportunities were generated in hydro projects, universities, industrial units and other sectors in the past few years, but its major portion was shared by outsiders," Congress leader G S Bali said during his 'Rojgaar Sangharsh yatra' here.
It had been made mandatory in the state for every industrialists to provide a minimum of 70 per cent employment to the Himachali youth in their units.
Alleging that the state government is opposing the yatra, which has been taken out to highlight unemployment in the state, he said the ruling BJP is an "anti-employment party" .
"When BJP is opposing the Rojgaar Sangharsh Yatra in Himachal, it means that the party is anti employment," Bali said.
"We are taking this march to every nook and corner of the state to force the government for the strict implementation of 70 per cent employment rule in the private sector," he said.
During the yatra, he said, forms are being distributed to youth to know the actual figure of unemployment in the state.
