"'Make in India' campaign would create lakhs of jobs and give impetus to the growth of the economy," Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya said here.
He inaugurated an exhibition-cum-awareness programme organised on various initiatives taken by his ministry.
Stressing on the need for everybody to actively take part in the 'Swachch Bharat' Abhiyan, Dattatreya said this will make India clean and green.
On the occasion, the Minister has released an amount of Rs 9 crores as scholarships under beedi workers children's scholarship disbursement scheme.
K K Jalan, Central PF Commissioner, Anil Kumar Agarwal, Director General, ESIC were among those who were present on the occasion.
The latest initiatives of the Ministry during the last one year have been highlighted during the exhibition by its various departments.
