Srihari, who handles education portfolio, held a meeting with officials on the state government's decision to make Telugu a compulsory subject from the next academic year, an official release said.
The state government had in September last year decided to make Telugu a compulsory subject in both public and private institutions in the state from class I to XII.
Telugu should be made an interesting and high scoring subject for students. It should not trouble them, Srihari said.
