Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has asked Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath to make accused students in the Vyapam scam approvers to nail the main perpetrators.
In a letter to Nath dated July 21, Singh cited the example of the Haryana teachers' recruitment scam.
The Vyapam scam refers to irregularities in exams held by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board, also called Vyavasayik Pareeksha Mandal or Vyapam, for admission in professional courses and state services.
"The students against whom evidence of exchange of money is available and call details are available, prosecution should make such persons approvers so that the main accused can be booked and the innocent get justice," he said in the letter.
He further wrote that since he took the matter before Supreme Court and had placed number of evidences before the Special Investigation Team (SIT), he felt the MP government should take these measures to ensure justice is done.
He also said cases against those students who had been booked despite not being selected in the exams held under Vyapam should be withdrawn.

He demanded that cases be withdrawn in those cases where there is no evidence against the student, and the latter having cleared the NEET exam for that particular year.
Those, against whom there was no evidence, but were still barred from appearing for various exams because of their name appearing in the Vyapam scam, and who have now crossed the age limit for competitive exams, should be pardoned and allowed to sit for such tests, he said.
He claimed the Vayapam scam had dented the image of the state across the world, with over 3000, including 1450 students, getting booked. Around 45 accused died, the letter stated.
Singh said that in Haryana, in order to bust the teacher recruitment scam, applicants were made government approvers, leading to the main accused getting convicted.
