Makvana bags six to give Saurashtra advantage on Day 2

Off-spinner Kamlesh Makvana bagged six wickets to give Saurashtra the advantage against Haryana on the second day of the Group B Ranji Trophy cricket match, here today.
Trying to check Haryana's response to their first innings score of 238 in the four-day encounter at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Makvana spun a web to bag his 11th first-class five-wicket haul and bundle out the visitors for 226.
Building on the slim 12-run lead, the Jaydev Shah-led side finished the day on 162 for three, stretching their second-innings lead to 174.
In-form Sheldon Jackson and Shah stroked delightful half-centuries to be unbeaten on 56 and 55 respectively.
The duo has stitched together an unbeaten 93-run fourth-wicket stand to frustrate the Haryana bowlers.
In a dominating display of batting, Shah has hit 6 fours and a six in his 86-ball knock so far while Jackson's watchful innings has been laced with 2 fours and a six.

Earlier starting on their overnight score of 74 for three, the Sunny Singh-led Haryana slipped further to 98 for five before a 93-run sixth-wicket partnership between Jayant Yadav (97), who had picked seven wickets in the first innings, and wicketkeeper-batsman Nitin Saini (45) brought some respectability to the innings.
But Makvana (6-87), who got the two dangermen - Jayant and Saini - back in the pavilion, and left-arm spinner Dharmendrasinh Jadeja (4-80) combined well to give the hosts a vital lead.
