Malaysia's company secretaries' body to adopt ICSI standards

The Malaysian Association of Company Secretaries (MACS) will adopt secretarial standards issued by India's apex body of company secretaries, ICSI, according to an official release.
The Malaysian association will adopt the secretarial standards issued by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) as the benchmark in development of their secretarial standards.
The corporate affairs ministry has given approval to MACS to go for the ICSI secretarial standards.
According to the release, the secretarial standards on meetings of board of directors and general meetings were approved by the ministry under provisions of the Companies Act, 2013.
These standards came into effect on July 1, 2015.
